The world's largest wooden map, now in a palace in 
 the Middle East
 .  It is eighteen feet wide and weighs two-
 hundred and ten pounds.
There are twenty-four clocks
 representing all the
world's time zones, each separated
 with a black longitude line.
 All six-hundred, forty names 
 are laser printed on a white field and
inlaid
 into the
 background. One-hundred, twenty eight species were used.
 The Saudi coat-of-arms is on the bottom right.

The photo above shows the latest update for a ship model I started in July, 2003. It is shown in progress, on display at Southdale Mall last April..

When it is done all 14 sails will be attached and rigged. There are more than 700 gold-leafed  ornaments.

The display case features a very detailed wooden map of the British Isles with a sea serpent, a vignette of Britannia, a scale, a compass rose and an elaborate legend including famous mapmakers Gerard Mercator and Willeam Blaeu. The four columns are made of separately inlaid Mahogany bricks and all have doors, catwalks and secret passages. The rear panel has hidden strips of lights and five mirrors reflecting inside. The roof (shown partially completed) also has hidden light strips.

The overall size is 70" wide, 60" tall and 27" deep.
